Video search enables users to save valuable time when looking back into history for specific people, vehicles, objects or assets. Using thumbnails of varying size, users can quickly inspect recorded video and navigate by date and time to look for events of interests and create evidence around those incidents.


  • Search supports all cameras in the organization

  • Users can browse thumbnail images from video recordings in varying time increments and thumbnail size.

  • Default filter is on motion which can be toggled off

  • Only available on web portal

How to

Search is accessible from any Arcules video player. To launch, click on the video search icon at the bottom right of the player. To return to the previous view, click the exit icon in the top right corner to dismiss the search interface

Search Header Items

  • Camera selector: Click to select a different camera from the same view. Note: This is only available when entering video search via a view in the Views page.

  • Date and time: See a new set of results for a different time period.

  • Time between images: Adjust the number of seconds between the thumbnail results.

  • Image size: Adjust the size of thumbnails to be smaller to fit more on your screen or larger to see more detail.

  • Motion only toggle

Expand/Collapse a segment

Thumbnails are grouped in segments that correspond to the red motion indicators on the timeline. Clicking the expand button between any thumbnail image will display more thumbnails between the two thumbnails with fewer seconds between them so you can preview more of what happened in that timeframe. Clicking the collapse button will return the segment to the previous state.

Thumbnail Actions

Clicking the play button on any thumbnail will open up the video player to view playback, scrub through the timeline, and export evidence.
